Story of Adi Shankaracharya……………….

Generation after generations, there is carving for sex, Madness for Sex. We all indulge in sex. Many psychologists believe that sex as physical hunger, they also call it biological need. Tantra has a different approach. Sex is not need like Food, Water and   Air. Without Air you cannot live a minute, but without water and food you can survive for few weeks. Without Sex you can survive entire life.

Many people say & it is true also that quality of sex has fallen. Sex has lost its naturalness, simplicity. Sex has become a violent act. Go to any News channel, Newspapers you will see rampant cases of sex abuse, group rapes, molestation, perverted sex. Few cases of murders are also reported after satisfying lust. The husband & wife relationship in the decent, educated & cultured families the romanticism, shringarras is lost. Sex is reducing to act of violence, physical abuses & mere nightmare.

You must approach sex when you are blissful, prayerful, and cheerful.  If you are in worry tense, anguish and you approach it makes no sense. You are cheerful, joyful blissful than there is no act of violence, sex become divine experience.

The fact is we are all born through sex. So how can you avoid, abhor, condemn sex? We must immensely respect it. When you approach you wife (women) or Husband (men) with feeling that you are meeting very special divine.  You transcend sex. You go beyond sex. 

You will be with existence. The very act of sex will make you Whole, Complete.

It reminds me  of the story of Adi Shankaracharya. The debate went on between Adi Shankaracharya and Mandan Mishra a great scholar of Mimamsa philosophy. The historic debate lasted for eighteen days covering wide range of critical issues on spirituality and religion. Mandan Mishra’s wife Bharati  was  a scholar & she presided over as judge/refry. Adi Shankara defeated Mandan Mishra in the debate. Before pronouncing the outcome of the debate Mandan Mishra’s wife said,’ I am ardhangi/better half of Mandan Mishra, you need to clarify certain points to me before you are declared victorious”.

She asked certain questions about sextual experiences, love making, kamshastra. Adi Shankara said “I don’t have experience, mine is borrowed knowledge”. Adi shankara was Bal brahmachary he said “Give me some time. I will go thought the experience myself, thereafter I will answer your questions’. Bharati gave 30 days to Shankara to answer but he came back within 3 days. He went through the experience by entering in to the body of a dead king through Parakyapravesh   a Yogic kriya. The king was resurrected and Shankara went through the experience with the kings wives, he took the act of love making ,sex to very divine level. On return he answered the finer points in the discussion raised by Mandan Mishra’s wife and won the debate……..

This story speaks volumes; one may trace the seeds of Tantra , Kundalini Shastra  originated in the discussion with Bharati.

|| व्यास पौर्णिमे निमित्त ||

आज व्यास पौर्णिमा.

जीवनात पौर्णिमेचे  महत्व खूप आहे. आषाढ  पौर्णिमेला गुरुपौर्णिमा असे म्हणतात. चैत्रातील पौर्णिमेला  हनुमान जयंती, वैशाखातील बुद्ध पौर्णिमा , जेष्टातील वटपौर्णिमा. पौर्णिमेच्या  दिवशी चंद्र  ज्या नक्षत्रात असतो त्या नक्षत्राचे नाव  त्या मराठी महिन्याला असते. आजची गुरु पौर्णिमा ही जीवनात समत्व उत्पन्न व्हावे ह्यासाठी. आपल्याला योग्य मार्गावरून जाण्यासाठी , मार्ग दाखवण्यास सतगुरु असतात. इंद्रिय गोचर नसलेले ज्ञान प्राप्त करण्यासाठी गुरुतत्त्व तुम्हास मदत करते. आणि त्या तत्वाप्रती आदर व्यक्त करण्यासाठी , स्मरण करण्यासाठी ही आजची गुरुपूर्णिमा. 

शिष्य उत्तम असला तर गुरु भेटतोच. आजकाल पंचतारांकित गुरु खूप आहेत.आजचा गुरु हा संस्थानिक असतो,  व्यावसाईक असतो, अशा गुरूंची भेटही मिळत नाही. तुम्ही त्यांना दुरून पाहता. त्यांचे दूरदर्शनवर,सीडी वर तुम्हाला दर्शन होते. तुम्ही जर वलयांकित असाल, धनवान असाल, सत्तेच्या खुर्चीत असाल, तरच तुम्ही उपयोगाचे असता. आजचे आधुनिक गुरु तुम्हाला जवळ बसवून घेतील. तुम्हाला बाजूला बसवून घेतलं म्हणून तुम्ही मोठे ठरत नाही. त्यांच्या जवळच्या वर्तुळात  तुम्हाला प्रवेश मिळणार नाही.

 एक गोष्ट आठवली ती थोडक्यात सांगतो.................

एकदा एका सम्राटाला कोणीतरी प्रश्न केला "महाराज तुम्ही एवढे चक्रवर्ती सम्राट तुमच्यापाशी अमाप धन संपत्ती, समृद्ध राज्य, सेना,असून तुमचे गुरु इतके गरीब का?" त्यांच्याकडे ना जमिनीचा तुकडा, ना धन, ना रथ, ना घोडा, ना बैलगाडी आणि तुम्ही त्याच्यापुढे नतमस्तक होता. त्यांचे म्हणणे ऐकून घेता,  तुम्ही त्यांना राजवाड्यांत का बोलावत नाही? " तेव्हा तो सम्राट म्हणाला " तुम्ही जी भूमी म्हणता ती युद्धात मी कधीही हरू शकतो, संपत्ती म्हणता ती खर्च होऊ शकते,  नाहीशीही होऊ शकते आणि सामर्थ्य म्हणता ते जोपर्यंत तारुण्य आहे तोपर्यंतच. माझ्या गुरूंकडे जे ज्ञान आहे,  ते ज्ञान त्या चैतन्याचा प्रकाश सर्वत्र पसरतो आहे. अनेक लोकांना योग्य मार्ग माझ्या सत्गुरुने दाखवलेला आहे. आणि ते सारे त्या  मार्गाने जात आहेत. माझ्या गुरूकडे जे ज्ञान, जे प्रेम, जी करूणा आहे , ती सारी अनमोल रत्नच आहेत." 

खरच आज अशा सत्गुरुची आणि चांगल्या शिष्यांची वानवाच आहे !

Get Enlightened …. My Friend !!

A friend of mine, two days before asked me a plain question “When shall I get spiritual experience?” What I can say, who am I to talk about enlightenment. I simply smile and kept mum. I know him since long, he do practice yoga, does regular pranayam, Meditation, with penance with all sincerity.

Here it reminds me of a beautiful story of Bodhisattva. .After Gautama Buddha’s nirvana Bodhisattva went to China, Mongolia and other places to spread Buddha’s teaching. Among many genuine disciples Huang Haua was on toppers’ list. He had all inquisitiveness, yearning to know the truth. He followed all the spiritual practices, teaching, which were introduced to him. Still he was empty; there was no light of Enlightenment.

Without murmur practiced meditation, did every things with full awareness and with witness, he use to sit in silence but nothing was moving, he kept asking Bodhisattva “when shall I get Enlighten?” He perused the path with patience.

One day suddenly something happened. He was electrified, rejuvenated, over whelmed, had no words to express the enlightenment, really he was speechless.

He literally caught the feet of Bodhisattva and said “what you did to me?  It’s a great experience beyond words. Sir, such important thing is offing to me; you should have at least given me a hint. I would have been ready, prepared to receive this divine grace”

Bodhisattva smiled. He did not say anything. Huang Haua said “Whenever I used to ask you, you smile, and now something has happened, I am telling you and you are laughing, you keep smiling.”

Bodhisattva said “I did nothing, had I done, I could have told you, when and where it could happen. It has just happened, on its own, Hogaya so Hogaya, I am not aware of it. I am not instrumental; I may be just an instrument. A hallow bamboo stick”

 Be in spiritual path or in mundane path, patience, consistency and sincerity helps, things will not happen immediate one has to wait to realize the things.

 I have not told this story to my friend, but you can, if you encounter friend making such inquiry.

Something I want to share with you about GOD

People talk about God. Many religious masters, gurus, even ordinary  men talk about God.

 I wonder they talk as if they have seen the God. Each one has his or her own concept of God.

Concepts of god is tag to religion, many wars are fought in the name of God.God is hypothesis.

Theist say he is and atheist say he is not. Both are speaking in the same language, one say ‘yes’ and other say’ no’, both are unaware of the truth. Nietzsche said ‘God is Dead’ He said great thing but not the truth. God is never born so how can he die? If, he can die, he can reborn also.

Man is insecure in this vast universe. When he compare himself or herself with vast universe, he feels small and alone and helpless too. He feels insecure, surrounded by death, all kind of fears, all kind of anxieties, anguish, and phobias. Out of accumulated fear of humanity men has given birth to the Concept of God.

God has emerged as psychologically a protector, care taker, someone to whom, you can pray in difficulties. God is man’s own projection to take refuge for the accumulated fear. It is true man wants some security; it is true man wants some safety; it is true man wants some comfort, hypostasis God fits in that.

Greatest Joke, many spiritual masters proclaim that they are God.  They have seen the God, they talk to God. God is in temple, church, mosque. These are  just idiosyncrasy.

 How can one be God?

 At the most one can be Godly, divine, good human. Friends mind has capacity to project anything, imagine anything, after long repetition you can see God as you imagined, it is by product of your mind, your thought.  Live with clarity what else.
